Best Family Vacations
Vacations are the one time of the year that families are able to spend the majority of their time together. That is why many families schedule at least one vacation a year. What can you do to ensure that your family has the best family vacations?
There are a variety of choices for family vacations. Despite what you may think, the best family vacations don’t require you to spend a lot of money. For myself, just being together were some of the best family vacations that we had.
Let’s talk about some different options for vacations that you may or may not have considered:
Disneyland-this is a good option for younger children. My parents took us to Disneyland when I was 7. The one memory I have is of being so thirsty that I dipped my hand out of the boat on It’s a Small World to drink water! I have a distinct memory of my Aunt Helen slapping me for that one.
Disney World-this is also another age appropriate option. We went to Disney World in conjuction with a family reunion that was scheduled at my grandmother’s house in Florida. I remember the family reunion more than anything. We had it at a local park where we ate and swam all day.
Both parks offer attractive vacation packages. Contact the park for more details. You can also try a travel agency. Credit unions offer tickets at a discounted price as well.
Home vacations-many times my parents did not have the money to travel for vacation. We would do activities close to home. We visited local museums, gardens, and the beach. One time it was raining so we had a picnic in our living room. That is something I have never forgotten!
The best family vacations don’t have to cost a lot of money. Keep this in mind when you schedule your next family vacation.
